National Police Week.

Honoring all those who serve.

My Dad was an MP in WWII. Had to break up fights between drunk GIs who had drawn loaded guns on each other!!! No easy job at all.

I did a tiny bit of security work myself.

It is that thing...8 hours of absolutely nothing...and then, just some crazy crisis jumps off, without any warning.

It is amazingly difficult work. And I honor all those who do it.

Glad they are on the job daily.......now of course this means
this week will be getting a ton of spam calls from the
law & order scammers.....oh well.......

My grandson became a cop two years ago. We are very proud of him. He was shot at by a man he was chasing in a domestic violence case about two months ago. When my grandson reported “shots fired” over the radio, he was joined by several other officers from other local police departments. They were able to capture and arrest the suspect. He faces up to 40 years on all charges, plus a $25,000 fine.

I have high respect for police officers and wish the governments would hire many more police officers. At least twice the amount of police officers that we currently have.

I'm not sure that's a great idea. I have respect for law officers, but there are still a lot of bad apples out there. Before I would want to see more cops out on the street, I would want to see them doing a better job of policing themselves, and some form of civilian oversight on there unions, which have grown far to powerful in comparison to other civic job organizations. Flame away.

I have high respect for police officers and wish the governments would hire many more police officers. At least twice the amount of police officers that we currently have.
