After the last tooth I lost I got no visit from any fairy I know of, just pain and a big dental bill...

When my siblings&I were little, after losing a tooth,'tooth fairy 'would leave a nickel or a dime underneath our pillows. As we got a bit older, I think we got a quarter

Oh! Yes..when my kids were little I'd put $1 in an envelope under their pillow with a hand-drawn(tooth-fairy) on it.

The next morning..my daughter would say "Mom"!
