The evening news ran a segment on the latest Blood Pressure studies. They are now saying that to lessen the chances of heart problems, etc., people should strive to keep their BP at 120, or below....this is down from previous recommendations of 140. Here's a good report on this news.

I then reached for our "Omron", and got 110 over 65, with a pulse of 76...guess I'm ok, for now.

Do you take medication? Beta Blocker, ACE, Calcium Channel Blocker...? Years ago, I always heard 120 max, 90 max, but what about older folks? I never went to doctors, had an injury in 1980, doctor said "way too high", thence started years of continuous meds. Without getting detailed, one, Clonidine, caused my BP to peak at way over 200 when I forgot to take it over a weekend! Dangerous stuff. Doc gradually got me off of it, took 6 weeks, cut the dose, BP spiked real quick. imp

Nope...no drugs. I do take a vitamin pill after breakfast, and I keep a small bottle of Naproxen Sodium (generic Aleve) around in case I overdo it, and irritate my arthritis...maybe one pill a week. My BP used to be higher, due to the job stress, etc., but retirement, and loosing some weight seems to have taken care of that.
