New from out yonder

I guess it's time to admit I'm getting older, so here I am.
I'm from Nebraska, 3 kids, 3 grandkids, 3 dogs and 2 cats. (One of the cats ran away on his first day)
Looking forward to being here and maybe learning something, even though I've been called "unteachable" more than once.

Welcome to the Forum.
Married a Nebraska Lady and both our boys born there.
She's from a small town outside of Hastings.
I spent 20+ years there and all I can say is GBR!
Thanks, GBR :)
Several years ago, there was a gauge factory in Hastings and one in Oshkosh out in the panhandle. I worked there for a few years, and in later years, I spent some time around Superior and Burr Oak which aren't too far from Hastings.

Your comment about "one of the cats ran away on the first day " reminds me of how flat our western Canadian Province of Saskatchewan is.....So flat that you can watch your dog run away for 3 days in a row ..... Welcome from me up here in Toronto, the center of the universe, if you listen to our newly elected Mayor. JimB.

Thank you all for the welcomes.
I think I'm going to like it here.
I'm starting to think about retirement, but I need to wrap some stuff up before I can make the jump.
I'm working on selling some pasture, some vehicles, some guns and anything I can live without to get some debts paid off.
I am also selling one of my houses. My stepson lives in it and hasn't paid any rent for over 2 years. He doesn't really take care of the place and it's just a money pit.
My kids think I should sell my farm, but I'm not ready to move to town yet, even though I have a nice little place in town.
My plans come and go, but that's kind of where I'm at for the moment.

That SIL would be gone after the 3 rd month of not paying rent, if I owned that property. Reducing your debts is a good idea. JimB.
