Can you say "begging for chaos?" Keep in mind the Jan 6 Capital riot and elections coming. Is this the best idea for the current mood of our country?

Texans will no longer need any training or a license to openly carry a handgun with the signing of House Bill 1927 on June 16. The state joins 19 other states that have a “constitutional carry” law, or a law that does not require a permit.
Prior to this new bill, applicants were required to submit their fingerprints, undergo up to six hours of training and pass a written exam and a shooting test. HB 1927 now makes it optional.
The same eligibility requirements apply at being 21 years old, passing a background check and not having a felony or domestic violence conviction.
However, guns are still banned in places such as hospitals, amusement parks and correctional facilities, to name a few.

Missouri has similar laws, but I can only recall one time that I saw an individual walking around with a pistol on his belt. As hunting season approaches we often see a few trucks with a rifle or shotgun mounted on a rack in the rear window. Most stores and business have a sign on the door prohibiting firearms on the premises. I'm not aware of Any incidents in the State where a responsible gun owner committed a crime. Most of the crimes and murders are in the major cities, in the poorer neighborhoods, and among the street/drug gang types.

With all the riots and protests that took place last year, and the downgrading of the police in many cities, gun sales...especially hand guns....have soared, as millions are concerned that they may have to protect themselves.
