I found this board through another discussion forum that I recently joined. I'm 70-married to a better wife than I deserve for 44 years. Both of us met in college at Drake University, she became a mergers and acquisitions attorney and I owned my own company until 1992 when I sold it to a larger corporation. I didn't want to be part of a large corporate structure, so I retired for a few years and my wife took a couple years off and we traveled. She went back to work in 1995 and I started a real estate business in 1996. Seeing what was coming with the housing bubble I cashed out of the real estate game in 2007, and among other things spent some of my time in local politics.

Both my wife and I "officially" retired at the end of 2013. She still sits on a couple of boards and does some pro bono work and I still dabble in local politics. We also started a cemetery mapping company in 2013 and spend some of our time in the summer months mapping out cemeteries and converting the data into a digital format.

We built and moved into our current home in Iowa 20 years ago. We sit on a few acres, and except for a short time after we were married we've always lived a rural lifestyle.

Welcome to the forum DIM..hope you don't mind the acronym..

Other people mention the 'mysterious' other forum sometimes..from whence they arrive, but I have no knowledge of this strange other world..perhaps it's through the wardrobe.. :D

Welcome anyway :welcome:

:newhere:I just barged right in and did not introduce myself. I apologize.
I am a senior, female from Texas.
rkunsaw told me about this forum so I decided to check it out.

Welcome to our little clambake. With what little info I have about you now (your profile) I expect we'll have some political "discussions" (friendly of course). Nice people here, you'll love it.

Hello DIM, and welcome to the forum! No cemeteries to map here, as we are all quite alive! :) We move and we shake...but not always at the same time.
