I've been "lurking" around this forum, and everyone seems so friendly and interesting, I thought I'd join. I live in a coastal town on the South Shore outside Boston and I love the ocean and boating and most water-based activities. My husband and I are retired, we both worked in real estate for many years. We have a German shepherd who loves the boat as much as we do, and a geriatric cat with many odd habits.

I never know what to write in these intro threads, so I'll just say "Hello, I'm looking forward to meeting all of you."

That is a beautiful area, where you live. I enjoyed seeing it, years ago.
I live even farther northeast than you and than @RadishRose

We had our first snowflakes falling today. It was pretty, sticking to the bare tree branches.

Have you had any first snowflakes sightings, yet, @TideCaller ?

They were small flakes and didn't mount up, or last long;
but they were pretty, lining every tree branch, like vanilla icing, as they do when they are sticky, and spreading the thin white blanket on all the green lawns, cars, birdfeeder tops, etc.
 
A big welcome from a fairly new member. Don't be shy. Jump right in with your concerns and interests. Lots of interesting people with interesting viewpoints and experiences here. You'll feel welcomed right away. Just one cautionary note - stay away from anything political - instant spanking then. And, should you get tired of the chill of winter, remember that southern California is open 24/7 all year long.
