New "Old Guy" Here

I used to play a Wurlitzer Organ and a Spallanzani Accordion when I was a young man of 29. Now I am a very old man of 89 and like to listen to my favorite music on my Amazon Echos.

I still possess those musical instruments but have stopped playing them.

My guiding principle these days is that some die too YOUNG and others live too LONG! I'm in the latter situation.

I was in a stage band in high school. We played a variety of music at a variety of venues. We used sheet music. It was really fun. I stayed with the band once I graduated from secondary school. Once I quit the band and found playing my saxophone somewhat boring so stopped. Years later I wanted to play again but wanted a smaller saxophone so bought a second hand soprano. As soon as I played it I fell in love with it.

I’ve been singing since I was 5. We took piano lessons when I was a kid and I now have a Roland keyboard set. I love singing and playing the background music. I haven’t played my keyboards in a while.

Once I purchased my soprano I discovered that I really enjoyed playing by ear. I think of songs that I liked and played them in a key that was easy for me or that sounded best.
After a while I had a list of songs that I really enjoyed. I also discovered Smule a couple of years ago. It’s a karaoke app made for people who either want to sing with others or just want background music to play with. Unlike you, I didn’t learn much about music software.

Anyway, I do have some samples of music that I’ve done. Here’s a thread I started with some of the music I made. Each post has one song each that I’ve done. If you don’t change songs after one song then you’re listening to others. I’m singing with others so you might not instantly know which one is me. Some songs I’ve played saxophone in.
