New Pharmacy Has Different Company Providing my Medicine

Same medicine, different pharmaceutical company. However, since I've been taking the newer med, I have been experiencing sharp headaches when exerting myself, dizziness, fatigue and ringing in ears. Hopefully I'm just in an adjustment period.

I would take it up with the pharmacy. Or do whatever you have to in order to get the "old" stuff.

All those things that you’ve been hauling out of the basement definitely qualify as “exerting” yourself.

It's possible that just because it's the same medicine that the preservatives could be different. Sometimes you react to the preservatives. I would look into that.

Maybe you overdid it a little dragging all that stuff upstairs.

I would ask about the inactive ingredients, which might be a problem for you, and for confirmation that you got the correct dose and med, too.

I got a refill today and they look more like what I was getting from the former pharmacy. On the left is one that I suspect gave me symptoms. On the right is the new batch.

Pill with imprint 1118 is Yellow, Elliptical / Oval and has been identified as Hydrochlorothiazide and Losartan Potassium 25 mg / 100 mg.

..so it looks like they are exactly the same pill, so maybe a co-incidence, but it's worth checking that there's not something causing the Malaise

I can't take the stuff. Makes me very ill. Docs answer: Would you rather be very ill or die? Neither, but until I die I'd rather not be very ill.

Ah, excellent. Are the Lupin pills the ones you were taking before?

Some were. They also provided pills form Alembic, Aurobindo, MacLeod and Northstar.

I would ask the pharmacist about any differences in the inactive ingredients.

I know about a year ago some batches of this medication were recalled because of some chemical that was in them that was a potential carcinogen.

in case a report needs to be made of any possible problems.

I did bring the pills back when I picked up my new refill. They only thing the counter person said was that they can't take back any medications. That miffs me - there are still 52 pills of the Torrent brand.

BTW - started new refill yesterday and feel much better. Headache has subsided.
