Hi Everyone, New to the board. I have spent the day reading your board. Seems to be a lot of nice people navigating retirement and issues we face in our older years. I look forward to getting to know you. I am a retired widow after losing my husband after 31 one years and 3 weeks of marriage. I have one son, married and living his life. He lives about 30 minutes away. I am learning to navigate on my own. It is a challenge but feel I have done well so far. I am always looking for information and ideas to continue to be self sufficient on my own.

I think I started off on the wrong foot, I said I was bored. I am not bored, I am alone and lonely. It is hard to admit the truth sometimes. I really have no contact with the outside world other than the doctor, the pharmacist and the grocery store. I just need to connect to other going through the same struggles we face each day.

You've come to the right place if the troubles others face interest you at all, or you wish to pass comment upon, (I'm fairly prolific on that score I think I can fairly say! :);) ).

Welcome to the site in any event, and I'm sure you wont/cant go wrong here!(y)

Thank you, I am not very experienced in this way (forums etc.) or techy things. I just want to make a connection for support, advice and friendship.

I have seen a few people that show Texas as a location. This area covers quite a big area in Texas but is probably small when compared to London. Only guessing but London seems to cover quite a vast area.

yes there are a few in Texas generally, here.. but I know @dseag2 is in Dallas.. definitely...

Fort worth is approx 1/2 the size of London.....I don't live in the city.. I live in the rural outskirts... 20 miles outside.. If you look at the Photo forum you will see many pics .. of my area if you;re interested..(y)

Thank you so much for the welcome to the board. That means a lot to people out in the big wide world struggling to find their way.
Let me echo Diva's sentiment and offer my condolences. After so long as a couple it must feel like you are trying to keep all the balls in the air as a singleton. Just take one day at a time Blessed. You will find us here whenever life's a struggle.

Yes I am interested. I will check out the area. I live between Dallas and Fort Worth, they call it the Mid Cities. When I was young, we were still considered in the country. Now all that has grown together and there is no so called country. It is just a large metro area. Probably like so many of you have experienced in the London area.
