This is a great place to spend time, sharing, learning, support and fun. ENJOY. All doors are always open.....no need to knock.....just come right in.

Thanks MickaC!!! It's been a warm welcome ,It's so nice to find a place where I can listen ,learn, and just be me. I have so many questions. It's so nice to just express and share and learn. Drop the walls so to speak.

My question is, at 53 what would you advise me to invest in ? I mean, I have a part-time job somewhat disabled, limited in income what types of insurance should I focus on acquiring? How do you exactly plan for your future? are there any sites that give a list of things to look at? What would you have done differently if you could redo any investments, or purchases at 53?

investing comes at step 4 after you got an emergency fund, and all debt paid off but the house. Dave Ramsey is where I go to for any financial advice. His book "the total money makeover" is a good place to start. I've seen it for $4 with shipping on ebay, or your library may have it for free. He has lots of free content online that can help you. His "complete guide to money" book is also cheap on ebay and teaches the principles of FPU (financial peace university)... an online class he offers for $120 range or so. you can get the same lessons in the $5 book.

OOOh thanks Bowmore ! I appreciate that, I have it pulled up now.
Yes tomorrow I'll nestle in with a cup and take a look-see. It's raining a bit now, doesn't seem to be changing any directions. It'll be a good day to brush up on all of these sites .
Give me a chance to order some material and settle myself a bit. Pacing it out ya know?
Thank you.
