Hi to all. I just found this forum tonite. I've never been on a senior forum before. I'm a 70 y/o divorced, retired female living alone in a small town in Mississippi. A sister lives next door but we don't get along well. I have no children. I'm happy to have found a senior forum that's not a dating website. I'm in no condition for dating right now.

I live in my grandmother's old house, part of which I inherited, along with 2 sisters. The 2nd sister is 50 y/o and lives in Atlanta with her husband. I can't believe I'm 70 y/o and retired, and living in a neglected, rundown old house. At the same time, I'm grateful to be here because I'm sentimental about this place, and the rent around here is costly, and even outrageous. I'm sure that's the case everywhere. I hope I'm not too old for this group. Thank you for allowing me to participate.

Good morning, missip...and welcome. This is a nice friendly site, no nasties here. Hope you enjoy it.

Hey! I am in Vicksburg. We're about 200 miles north of the Gulf Coast, which is probably where you helped with hurricane cleanup. We had some damage up here, too, but minimal compared to those poor folks on the coast. God bless your group and others for helping out.

Thank you, Rosemarie! I can tell from all the warm welcomes that I'm going to enjoy this forum. You're all very kind.

Well alrighty then, Jim. I'm glad to hear it. Love the Arizona pic. I think I have a postcard of that exact mountain. I visited Phoenix and Sedona in the early 80s with my sister.....my one and only trip to AZ, and I regretted that it wasn't a longer one. Such a beautiful place. I love the West. I lived and worked in Houston, Texas for 16 years before returning to my hometown of Vicksburg in 1983. (You don't look your age, btw. :))

welcome missasip----you are not the oldest here i m going on 86 and wish i was 70 again

I hear ya. I don't think I'd want to go back, though. It hasn't been that great for me. I feel like Peggy Lee: "Is that all there is?"

Hi, Ken! I know it's mighty hot in Dallas. Hope you're staying cool, calm, and collected. :)

OK I confess. I'm 95. Been there, Done that !

LOL! Yea, I imagine you've covered a lot of bases in 95 years. Wow. And all you guys are tech savvy, and probably a lot more than me. I'm not going to be able to get away with any excuses in this group. What have I done! HA!

Hi, Bonnie! Love Houston. I lived there from 1967 to 1983. Where do you live in Houston? I always lived in Southwest Houston, in the area of Gulfton and Renwick.
