New Years Eve- Are you in bed or celebrating?

Well, it's 12:00 AM, January 1 2018, are you in bed or celebrating?

My 21 year old self would hang his head in disbelief, and shame, because my 71 year old self will be in bed.

Oh congrats on your GD's wedding Sunny...but for me...I'll be in bed... I used to always go out on NYE until the wee small hours , well actually later than that but... London is really for tourists and the young, it gets waaaay too crowded on NYE for oldies, even young oldies like me.. .. lol...

Most likely asleep in my recliner. Can't stand those New Years Eve music shows and complain bitterly to the hubby that it isn't the same without Guy Lombardo, which I do like clock work every year. The hubby will give me a poke when the ball drops, I'll watch it drop, hobble out of the recliner, give the hubby a kiss, cover the bird, who is smarter than us, because he already retired to his cage at ten o'clock and is sleeping next to his mirror.

but for me...I'll be in bed...

Hey Holly, you are letting the nation down!!!!!

Get some Alba TV on, it is much better that
the usual rubbish, it is in Gaelic and/or English,
but has some subtitles for we who don't speak
it, for the last several years I have had both
the usual and Alba on at the same time, Alba
stays on longer on my PC and the TV is off.

You probably know, but you can get Alba on the
BBC iPlayer on the PC.

Mike.

I'll be up. Turn on TV right before midnight, watch for 5 minutes afterwards, then quit. I've always stayed up. I'd be up anyway. :)

We go to a sibling's house for a relatively quiet, family, party. It's an hour away, so we normally leave a bit after 11:00, and we're usually on the road, close to home, at midnight. We don't want to be out driving with the drunks. We'll have a single glass of wine for the evening while at the party (so we're sober), and pop open champagne when we get home.

I am in London every year, but during late Spring. Is there an area where huge numbers of people congregate as happens in a number of American cities?

Usually in bed but still awake listening to the fireworks in the neighborhood. Wasn't that keen on going out for New Year's Eve even when I was young, just a small celebration at home, maybe a toast with a glass of wine.

We will be up as we go out dancing on New Year’s Eve ,( and throughout the year ) it was 3 am when we got to bed last year
When we was on our way home last year ,we was picked up by the police breathalyser ,lucky I don’t drink at all , and besides the strongest drink we have at dances is black coffee

Hmmm. Why do you think they are mutually exclusive?

Peace and love
Hoot (and I'm 71 my own self)

I'll be in bed awake until around 1:00 a.m. comforting my little 7-pound Pomeranian who's scared to death of loud noises. Around here the fireworks sound like WWIII starting. It's horrible. I'll be watching TV, too.

When I was much younger I did go out to celebrate. One year I went to a club that was in a hotel with my cousin and somehow we were invited to go up to the room where the crew of an airline (which will remain nameless) had a suite and there a man was streaking with other "interesting" stuff going on.

Reminds me of a song. (Everything reminds me of a song.)

Olivia, I remember the streaking fad. Hard to believe people really did that! I also remember Ray Stevens. Funny video.
