It's in beta and looks promising. I hate Google News because they heavily promote subscription sites like the Washington Post and NYT. Newzit includes them and other subscription sites, but puts a little orange banner at the bottom of the article link indicating that it's behind a paywall. I also like that the algorithms are designed so that your favorite sites will eventually appear first. So far, I'm seeing some hits from The Sun and other tabloids on the UK page, but am hoping those will get bumped down as I use the site more.

Welcome to this beta version of Newzit!
Newzit is a new and unbiased search and aggregation tool for bona fide news sites ONLY.
Content is rated by our algorithm purely for its relevance and recency, regardless of political orientation.
Every news organisation has its own biases, even the ones who say they don’t.
But with Newzit you will always get both sides of a story.
You might see articles that upset you but there is no fake news, because we won’t index the sites who produce it.
Pay-walled sites are treated the same as everyone else, although their content will be flagged for users.
You can either use the search bar or browse the day’s 60 Top Stories in the US and UK, picked strictly by algorithm.
By clicking the See More button for each group you will be shown the same story as covered by other sites.
Top Stories are presented for the US and UK. You can toggle between the two by clicking the relevant flag at the top of the page.
You can also click on any of the ‘most-searched’ terms of the moment in the ‘ticker tape’ at the top of the page.
Thumbnails of popular home pages for the US and UK are included so you can see at a glance what is going on in your country and visit those sites directly by clicking the relevant page.
In time the home pages you visit most often will be presented to you first.

So far we have indexed 900+ US sites and 200+ UK sites.
Shortly we will be adding news sites from Australia, New Zealand and Canada with Top Story options for those countries to follow.

We will also be adding Top Story tabs for Sports, Finance and Showbiz in the coming weeks.
Currently Newzit is only available in a desktop version although you can still access it from your mobile device. Mobile web and app versions will be released once we have completed this beta phase of testing.

I've been reading the news on Newzit for a few months now. The beauty of it is that you can choose whatever newscaster you wish

Time will tell. If this part proves true: "In time the home pages you visit most often will be presented to you first." then I'm all in.

Like I said above, I hate Google News because it promotes a handful of subscription sites as top hits even though I never read the paywall articles.
Google knows what we read and what we don't so they've certainly got an agenda in the sites they choose to feature. Newzit IDs the paywall articles which I really like.

Part of using the internet and reading the news is realizing nothing is without bias of some sort. I'm not throwing that knowledge out the window for any site I use.

Just used the + feature to expand the topic of elephant deaths in Botswana that was featured on the home page. CBS News was the visible story on the home page, but clicking on the + sign brought up articles from other sites. Seems like a pretty fair assortment of sites.

Quite interesting to say the least, but I do believe once a previously decided upon number are hooked, you will have to pay in order to read it. But, right now one can read several sources and figure out which is most truthful, or not.

its showing the websites of all the biased news already out there. so I'm not sure how they can be unbiased?

They're all biased, lol. I just hope Newzit helps me sift through better than Google News which is very limited. Newzit does need an advanced search feature though.
