NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell booed at the NFL player draft in Philadelphia then eggs them on for more. LOL

Off season and getting booed at a administrative function? Although this is the same place that has a reputation for throwing snowballs at Santa Claus.

I know the guy makes a ton of money for doing or achieving what I don't know but being booed at a draft, not a game???

Is it Philadelphia, the Commissioner and/or the NFL?

As a Brit I hesitate to be the first to get involved, but I'm a cheesehead so plead an interest.

One factor I see affecting the game even in the short time, ten years or so I have been a fan is player safety. While player safety must be paramount, it's its overemphasis, and over-zealous officiating, is ruining the game as a spectacle.

Let's face it, American Football is a robust contact sport, and wimps need not apply.

Does any player (in any sport actually) decide to turn pro without expecting to get hurt?

Reasonable care yes, particularly for foolhardy young heroes who insist that the fact they are seeing double is not significant, but not overprotection; if boxers were subject to the same protocols as footballers every bout would be stopped within half a minute.

It may be in regard to the politicization of the sport and his inability or unwillingness to do anything about it.

Can't remember what Roger Goodell has done right as Commissioner. I do know he has done some good things, but the stuff that he has botched up are what the fans remember.

Goodell's resume includes too many 'gate' scandals ... Spygate, Bountygate, Deflategate ... then there's the poor handling of abuse by players, like Ray Rice. Rice would still be playing in the NFL if the video of him dragging his wife out of the elevator hadn't been made public.
And Goodell made the NFL the No Fun League .. that's on him too.
