NHL super star Sidney Crosby awarded the Order of Canada for his contributions to Canadian life and culture.

Sid the Kid has been named in the Governor General's New Years List as a Member of the Order of Canada. Not bad for a guy from Coal Harbour Nova Scotia. He joins 99 other Canadians who are also now entitled to wear the Snowflake lapel badge. He is a great example to young Canadians, not only for his athletic prowess, but also his tireless charity efforts. The Order of Canada is one on the highest levels of recognition that a Canadian can receive.
