Lots of great common sense ideas thought up by social media users /..... I love them all...

Some examples include, having the yellow lines in the parking bay go up the wall as well as on the ground to help you stay in the bay...another is for the whole pole to light up and not just the traffic light at the top... and yet another is a restaurant chir that has a lift up seat to store a handbag or umbrella..

Which ones would you like to see implemented from this list.. and have you got any ideas of your own that would make life simpler?

IDK if it's practical, but I would like to see heated asphalt. Electricity would run through cables underground but close enough to the surface to warm it. Whenever temps gets cold enough to cause sleet, freezing rain or snow, the power would be turned on and the asphalt would heat up. Not excessively high, just to 45 - 60 degrees or so depending how much warmth is needed to preventing freezing and snow sticking. Any snow or sleet would melt on contact. Municipalities and state budgets would save huge amounts once snow removal is no longer needed. I see people die needlessly every year because of intensely cold temps and snow/ice storms. Cars crashes on highways, and on city streets overcrowded by piles of snow on the roadsides and sidewalks could be eliminated.

This was done in Edinburgh chic, when I was a young
apprentice electrician. A new type of cable appeared
called "Mineral Cable", they claimed that it would heat
without damage.

The City Council laid it under the road called "The Mound"
which runs downhill from the High Street to Princes Street,
There can be feet of snow all over the place, but never on
The Mound.

I don't know if it is still there.

Mike.

We've had the overlap curtain rods and the bridge signs for a while here.

From that list, I'd like to see the short side tag on the fitted sheets. In fact I may sew one of those on mine.

Instead of a calculator on the shopping cart, I'd like an item locator---type in popcorn, and it tells you what aisle.

Amazing. I wonder why it didn't catch on if it worked?

Some friends did that at their home. Their driveway had a rather sharp incline that was downright dangerous in snow and ice conditions, so they had heating pipes run. It was fairly expensive to make but it didn't cost that much to operate because their home had steam heat and they only used the driveway function a few times a year.
