No coordinates, Scotty can't beam me up.

I'm 70. I use a cane, and I'm unsteady on my feet. "The fall" is coming. I have a Consumer Cellular flip phone, in case. I don't know much about cellular phones. I'm not sure my phone is able to tell 911 where I am, if I can't. So what phone, and/or what app. does this?

Another reason I ask is I was driving on '80', not really paying attention, listening to my tunes. The traffic was really heavy. A monster size hunk of metal fell off a truck. Somebody was going to get killed, crashing into this. I pulled over to call 911. People were swerving and brakes are screeching. I called 911, but I wasn't sure where I was. Just then a guy ran out and dragged the hunk to the side. The guy was a hero. I felt stupid that I didn't know exactly where in the hell I was.

Thanks, Rick

I'd suggest calling your service provider and asking them if your phone lets 911 know where you are, or what you'd have to do to make it do that. I agree that's a valuable feature to have. I don't know if mine does that or not.

If that doesn't work you may have to break down and buy a smart phone. You just put it on Location and open Google Maps. It will show you exactly where you are.
