No country for old men.

Just invested 2 hours watching this movie, while it was pretty good, it totally left one hanging in mid air. What the heck happened at the end? To many unanswered questions.
Anyone else seen this movie and understand the ending?

I've seen a number of movies and TV shows that have these ambiguous endings. It seems to be the trendy thing to do lately. I guess they think they are being Avant Garde or some crap like that, but all it is is annoying IMO. That being said I liked the movie. It was entertaining. As for the ending, they are just trying to mess with your head. Make you think you're stupid for not understanding it. But they are the ones that are stupid for coming up with a crap ending like that.

Did you notice they also have absolutely no background music for the entire movie? Definitely a good movie with weird concepts...

I liked the movie but I didn't get the ending either.....the bad guy walks away with a bone sticking out of his arm and the local sheriff quietly retires.

Huh ???

The way this movie ended leaves the producers several avenues for a sequel....I'm surprised that one hasn't been filmed/released, since this movie originally came out almost 10 years ago. Javier Bardem is one of the best "villains" Hollywood has ever created. He was also great in the James Bond film Skyfall.

Really good, though disturbing, movie. I visited the town that a lot of it was shot in - Las Vegas, New Mexico (they refer to themselves as "the REAL Las Vegas). The "Mexican border crossing" was actually an overpass on the highway there. The lady in the historic hotel on the square took us upstairs to see the room where they shot the scene were he jumped through the window.

It's a very interesting small town; apparently just about every bad guy in the Old West passed through there at one time and shot somebody. Now, they're attracting a lot of movie activity as they have the town square rigged to look authentic (Old West, depression era, WWII, etc) without much work. Antennas, etc. on top of the buildings can be dropped quickly.
