No doctor's appointments for quite some time

Maybe where you live. My area is FLOODED with doctors. Minimum of two on every street, and plenty of clinics. There is a shortage of doctors in rural areas. They all moved to my neighborhood!

we're exactly the same here..it's very difficult to get an appointment.. they only schedule a month in advance, so for example if I call today they will tell me that there are no appointments available for this month and unless it's an emergency, to call back again at the end of this month or the first of next month..it's absolutely appalling..

Co-incidentally I called them this morning, because my repeat prescription is under review, so until I speak to the surgery pharmacist, I can't get my meds.. pre covid he would have called me today... now I have to wait until the 17th of May, and I have no meds left.. fortunately my meds aren't to keep me alive.. :cautious:
 
Hollydolly, that's totally out of order. How often do you get a repeat prescription? Ours is every 2 months, but the pharmacy that dispenses them usually has them ready for collection a few weeks in advance, so I always have a good buffer. I haven't had to see the doc this year, but last year, in the middle of covid, I had no trouble getting an appointment. I think people were avoiding the surgery unless it was an emergency.

every 30 days.. but it has to be ordered online, and every year or so they have to do a review before I can get more.. but they don't warn us in advance, rather when I go online to order my repeat.. it's blocked and marked as review required ..
 
Lucky me! I phone the family doctor and get an appointment in a few days. However, I have an eye specialist. Any appointment with him means an appointment in 3 months.
