No Matter the Cost, I Won’t Give Up ….

This is all about food???!!!! When it comes to food there is nothing I would not exchange for something else. I learned this trick during the early days of the pandemic when shelves were bare and choices almost nonexistent. So, as long as it's healthy, I'll eat it.

But I would not use any brand of battery except Duracell because all the other cheap ones burn out so quick. And Liquid Plumber is my favorite drain cleaner. Draino is a joke. Liquid Plumber is the nuts!

I have not changed my lifestyle in anyway as of yet but....I'm a bit worried about my breakfast English muffins. For ten years I have been eating Glutino brand gluten free, they have always been under $5.00 for six. Suddenly they are hard to find and the price is $8.00, I cringe paying that much, I think $10.00 will be the breaking point for me.

Wheaten Lover, are you saying you butter the bread on the outside with the mayo rather than using butter? Does it not stick to the pan?
Yes, mayo substitutes for butter. It doesn't stick to the pan. Also, I read in the Washington Post (I think) that grilled cheese tastes better if you grill the buttered (or mayo'd) insides of the bread lightly, then put the sandwich together and brown the outside. I haven't tried this yet because I am calorie conscious with everything except chocolate.

I use the Primal Kitchen brand for mayonnaise, ketchup, salad dressings, etc. It is more expensive but healthier with no bad ingredients (sugar, seed oils or preservatives). I am frugal with it so use less than I did of the products I used to use.

Yesterday I noticed Hellman's mayonnaise at the local store and it was $6.47 for the 32 oz. jar! I used to be a Hellman's girl and would eat that on just about everything. I had to give it up though.

I accept cheaper brands of coffee are not so good, though I can just about tolerate them, and similarly Ketchup brands, (the worst imitations being what we call here "Brown sauce").
Milk I say I couldn't live without, (butter not as difficult to avoid as some alternatives are okay).
Good bread I'd say is very important, though I often find I have to live with stuff that's only mediocre! :)

I get store brand mayo that contains olive oil from Aldi's. I like it and it's about 3.00 per jar so I get 2 at a time. The only things I get that are not store brands are hefty garbage bags, Dawn, laundry detergent of Gain or any advertised brand. I also shop at Lucky's and get some of their more expensive brands that are gourmet class. Very tasty stuff!

Puffs kleenex with lotion or aloe... can't blow my nose on cheap tissues...

I use make up very sparingly but it has to be good quality... (I recently replaced my powered blush and wrote the date on it to see how long it lasts--you'd be amazed how much I can get from the corners where the last little bit hides =P)...my fave brand is Lancome followed by Merrill Norman.

Gevalia coffee all the way!

To speak generally, if I really want something, I get the best for the money. If it's not something that 'brings me joy' then I just do without, so I guess it all balances out.

For anyone who drinks milk, I find the 365 brand milk from Whole Foods not only cheaper than other brands but similar to the "sweet milk" I drank as a child. I only use it in coffee, but I am tempted to pour myself a sip in the morning just for the taste.
