No more NHS Dentist service?

I've had notice from my dentists, where I have been registered as an NHS patient for many years, telling me they will no longer do anything on NHS.
It is now necessary to take out a Denplan, a monthly direct debit.
What is going on? Is this happening in all dental practices and will it still affordable.

I have a private dentist.. AND an NHS dentist. ..because waiting lists are so long now..I always go to the one who can see me first..amazingly it's usually the NHS dentist.. ..

The NHS is in a state of collapse. People are using and abusing it. I am not surprised at what dentists are doing.

I've got to pay £15 a month now, which gives me two checkups a year and 20% off any treatment which I must pay private fees for. No choice. I just consider myself lucky I am registered with a dentist. Nothing is as bad as dental pain I think.
I can afford this, but many people probably cannot.
