Norman Lear dead at 101.

I can't watch any of his shows they're so bad.

Such plastic acting on the part of the supporting actors and scripts that create their own realities and leave the real world behind.

I could never watch The Lucy Show for the same reason.
 
His shows introduced TV viewers to characters and situations many found relatable as opposed to the antiseptic, sanitized versions that had previously been the norm. Such characters as peopled his shows had depth, and were complex mixtures rarely depicted previously…
 
I really loved All in the Family. It's still one of my favorite shows. R.I.P.

I saw an interview where he said that Archie Bunker was fashioned after his father and he himself was Meathead. I hade forgotten that if I ever knew it. Someone mentioned that he put a random cab driver whose story had impressed him through college.
