It appears that someone shot up a couple of local electric power substations, and caused a total loss of electricity for thousands in that area. This had to be a well planned attack, committed by those who have good knowledge about these substations, and how they work. This shows just how vulnerable our power grids are to such "sabotage", in addition to weather and other natural disasters. Loss of electricity, for more than a few hours, can be a real disaster...especially during periods of extreme weather.
