Northern Ireland data breach

This is extremely dangerous for all officers in the intelligence departments, often even their family wouldn't be aware what they do. I bet the nightmare people to whom this is now a gift will make use of it, to settle old scores. Characters who you really don't want anywhere near your loved ones.

How on earth could anybody be so utterly stupid as to disclose identity details AND put them in the public domain! Personally I wouldn't have even put this on the news, the rest of us do not need to know.

Now lists of adopted children have been made public. What on earth is happening? We live in a time of data protection, so I thought.

This age of information is a dangerous one. Assume nothing.

Apparently there was an earlier data breach where a laptop containing personal information was stolen. To misquote Oscar Wilde, "To lose one lot of data , may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness."
