Nothin' Beats Fresh Air

Just read this & it sure makes a lot of sense:

As someone who lives close to one of the major incoming flight paths for air traffic, I now go out for walks in the refreshing air and enjoy the relative silence from the decrease in air
and vehicle traffic. I feel better already knowing that the almost invisible toxins we normally breathe in have decreased. It was enjoyable going for a short walk around the block in the sun and the blue sky.
If people need a pick-me-up from the troubles we are living in, get some exercise and fresher air! Appreciate the nature around us while you can. You may not want to go back to our former world!

In the "old" world, there was just too much travel: too many planes, too many cruise ships. I wonder if we really want to go back to the old world or do we want to emerge to a new better world?

Our busiest airport in the uk is London Heathrow. .... people have to live in houses and apartments right next to it, and approximately 1300 planes pass over ever single day ( aside from the current climate)...

The air quality is absolutely appalling over there ( thankfully a long way from me )..but I was just thinking how much silence and how much better the air quality must be for them at the moment, ..especially those with respiratory diseases...

must be heaven rosemarie ' peace for all you residents ..fresh air is so right ' I been doing the pots in the front garden
getting rid of all dead stems - then a sweep up'

We went for a walk on the forest trails yesterday. There were only 5 or 6 cars in the parking lot. The air was fresh - and, it was eerily quiet. Not one squirrel, or even birdsong. It was a bit muddy, but there are paved trails in the city for walking/cycling until the forest trails dry out a bit. People are getting antsy cooped up at home.

A few days ago, we went for a long drive and stopped at a McDonald's drive-through for coffee. It seemed as though everyone suddenly had a need to have a Big Mac ... long line ups. They had a good system going. Pay with card (tap) at one window, your order picked up at the next window .. a gloved hand dangling a bag of food. They put our coffees in a tray, rather than handing them out one-by-one. I feel for food industry workers everywhere. Many businesses will surely go under.

For sure! We abandoned the city noise, pollution, and crime when I retired, and found a nice 40 acre forest plot. The air is clean, the water is pure, and traffic is minimal. About the only air traffic we see are a couple of A-10's practicing their low level tactics with a neat fly-by every couple of weeks. Any day the weather permits, we can find gobs of outdoor work to do, and that has helped keep us in fairly good shape...knock wood.

It felt good to get out and do a little mowing yesterday!! Only got to mow the high ground of the place as there still are huge puddles in the low spots.. ☹ Might get to them on Thursday as the 80 degree tempts dry them out..

Thank goodness I don't live under a flight path.

Well I Kinda do but only a very few commercial flights, and waaaay high in the sky and over in the distance .. they don't actually go over my house .. . However the air ambulance flight path goes over my house, and that flies really low ( and is VERY loud) espeically late at night ... but it's only once in a blue moon, and anyway it's an emergency service so I'd never feel annoyed about it ...

WE did have a private aerodrome close to our house for decades and people flew small private planes over here most weekends when the weather was good, but it's been closed now for a couple of years so we have peaceful w/e's now...

It's been another glorious sunny day today so I went for another good walk, a different part of the area..got more photos. Roads are empty, barely anyone around , just the odd jogger or elderly couple walking .

Took my car to fill up with fuel, the fuel station which is a notoriously busy one in the nearest larger town was empty except for one van.. so I filled the tank, ( I wore gloves at the pump) and filled one gallon container as a precaution, and so it means I won't have to go near a garage again for a long time..

Saw a big argument between several drivers... One truck was blocking a very narrow road.. the middle aged drivers of the car in front of me , and a van at the side of where I'd pulled up behind them were out of their vehicles and having a verbal with the truck driver, trying to get him to reverse so people could get through, he refused point blank.. ( I was just sitting behind them thinking I'm never going to get past these people) so in the end I just reversed my car all the way back along the road I'd come, (fortunately a quiet country road), and with local knowledge took a different route, and left them to fight it out... they might still be there :D

When I go on my walks no matter what time of the day,I've notice how quiet it is
Some days it feels like I'm living in a 'ghost town'
