November 7th five years ago

I remember Gus. He was sitting on the heater of your last home. You said he was all skin and bones. I was really glad you took him to the vets and had him put to sleep. That was kind of you. Nineteen years is a long time to have a cat. Our cat lived 17 years

Pretty boy.

I am in agreement with you. I will treat my cats for anything treatable if they are not in pain or the treatment does not cause them distress. I would never treat a cat for cancer, no matter how much I didn't want to lose them.

The vets always make pet parents feel guilty that they aren't doing everything possible for their fur baby. Probably because they can make lots of money off a remorseful owner and in the end the pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge anyway. My mom spent close to $2000 on a cat 20 years ago and it ended up dying a pitiful death. After that I vowed never to put my pets through that.
