We were sitting in our living room that the window looks out on the road.. Remember we live in the back country and not in the city...
A young chap (in his late 20's) drives by our house on his pedal bike.. He was all dressed in hunting orange with the hat and all, including the boots..

Ready ??? He had on the side of his bike a rifle holster with a rifle in it sticking out..

HE IS GOING HUNTING ON A BICYCLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

C'mon... I've seen many strange things but nothing as strange as this....
Hunting by bike... It has to be a first....

He was more than likely hunting a area where he wanted to get in and out of quietly so he wouldn't spook the game or a area that he couldn't drive to but didn't want to hike in a long distance.

It's obvious that he hasn't studied the true manly hunting methods. perfect flat spot for your beer, and of course, an orange hat for safety. :):)

That guy will ruin that gun keeping it around a hot tub. Around here the big thing is bow hunting. My nephew drove to Oklahoma and took a 700+ mixed wild boar with a bow. There ain't enough money! That thing looked like a cow with tusks! Look up the Oklahoma state records. A few go over 800 pounds.
We have javelinas in Texas. Mixes there and Oklahoma, and starting into Missouri. Once they get a certain size not even 2 or 3 coyotes can kill them. Hogs are tearing up good ground. Most can be hunted all season with no limit and with most any weapon. Just so you get them dead.

If I had started a bow shop 10 years ago, I would be rich.

In parts of Arizona people have to lock gates on their immediate home sites to keep javelinas from tearing things up at night. They are ugly and mean as hell.

When hubby was young it was usual for the lads in the town , which is a town 5 hours drive from Adelaide ( city) to go out chasing hunting kangaroos on their push bikes with their 22 rifle on their backs (Aussies are not allowed to have a gun now unless you have a good reason to have one... ie being a farmer) Australians lost that right after the Port Arthur massacre ( Tasmania )

I think a bike is a good means of travel for hunting.

I went deer hunting once that turned into a bear hunt. Kind of scary but I saw what kind of a man my husband to be was. We were off in the mts in Oregon and my dad came running up out of a gully and he said some bears had his brother down there. His brother was a WW2 vet and had a bad leg. We always said "crippled" but now I guess that is not the proper thing to say. Anyway, my dad and his brother were in our hunting party and they accidentally got close to some cubs so the mama bear came after them. My dad could get out of there but his brother couldn't get up the hill. So when my dad came storming up the hill out of breath and told us what happened, he and I took off like the devil himself was after us. My husband to be, who was only 20 at that time, took off down the hill into the bushes. I figured I'd never see him alive again! He had to shoot the mother bear to save my uncle. I honestly can't recall what happened to the cubs. I hope they didn't die, I know he didn't shoot them. Then he carried my uncle (who had dropped his gun) up the hill then went back for the bear. We didn't eat any of it but a lot of the relatives did.

We have a lot of huge wild pigs around here in central California too. They do a lot of damage, not to mention cause some bad vehicle accidents late at night or in the fog.
