A NYC high rise construction crane caught fire then partially collapses damaging a neighboring building and injuring several. Authorities say about 16 tons of debris/concrete fell to the ground.

Emergency responders starting evacuating neighboring buildings right away but yes that would be like a disaster movie in 3D.

The crane company had a similar incident in 2008 in which a crane completely collapsed. I will say the support system for the crane held as did it hold the cab with caught fire. It was the lifting arm that failed.
