Obnoxiously Rude in a public setting?

If someone were obnoxiously rude in a public setting, would you speak up or mind your business hoping they would stop or move on?

Depends on the situation, honestly I don’t know if would stand to the cause or passively remove myself from the source(s) more likely the latter.

Devi's right, It would depend a lot on what type of rudeness. If someone was using racial slurs or ridiculing someone for their appearance, I would step up and defend them (well, these days I might look to see if he/she had a gun first.) If it's just someone having a hissy about bad service or a parking space, I would probably just mince away with my head down.

Not wise. Ever heard of a concealed weapon?

The op said it depends on the situation.

Maybe listing several situations would give us something to work with.

I like the topic, it really introduces something I experience in Europe more than I did in North America and I've been curious to know how others than myself deal with this.

Public shaming by aggressive loud speech is practically traumatizing for me. However, externally, I believe no one would be able to discern my interior feelings in such a situation. I tend to become overly polite and/or quiet and remove myself slowly from the bully if I can.

Sometimes it can be starteling. I have heard that people who buttonhole people on the street and start yelling at them have serious mental health issues, so there is that. Prolly its best beware and get away as fast as possible while not appearing much afraid which might trigger aggressiveness in the offender. I guess you can tell I have not always been able to afford to live in the best of neighborhoods in the world all through my life. 😄 🌲 💛 🌲 😄
