Oh shucks, Ocular Migraine

I hate these things. Don’t get many but they sure are freaky.
I hate those soooo much! I can tell when one's about to hit because it's a small "spot" at first and then in a few minutes it's those pulsating jagged lines. Luckily the longest I've had only lasted about 45 minutes but the worst was when I was grocery shopping. I hope it goes away for you soon! @1955

There is a natural nutrient you can purchase "over the counter" that really helps!
(riboflavin, magnesium, Feverfew, and other stuff your body needs)
It's called, "Migrelief", and it's inexpensive.
Take it at the first "feeling" of a migraine and it really does take it away!
SO much better than covering it up with pain pills!

Does anyone who gets an ocular migraine have any pain. I don’t. It really scared me the first time. It was in my only eye with vision, so I headed to the ER. No explanation.

Oh, I had "severe cluster migraine" when I was married to my first husband.
"Ocular Migraine might be different. There is no pain? Wow!

Yes, it's totally different from a migraine headache... I'm not sure how it got the name migraine. For me (I think there are different kinds) it is jagged pulsating colored visual "things" that start small and are soon covering the whole outer edges of my vision.

Oh yes, I had the triangle "light show" but pain so intense, I don't even want to remember! They must be somehow related!

These sort of octagonal multicolor prisms sort of pulsate starting small and get bigger and bigger until they pass behind your head. At a certain point a lot of vision is blurred. As said above ... freaky.

I don't ever experience pain with them, but they are annoying. The first one scared me, because I had never heard of such a thing. I was reading text on the computer, and then I started having difficulty. Words, phrases, an even lines were disappearing from the text. I liken ocular migraine to viewing my surroundings through a cut crystal vase my grandmother had. Getting up and moving around seems to help get rid of them. Just getting myself to the optometrist fixed it that first time. It was gone, by the time I got there. The optometrist told me what it was. I've often wondered if they are actually related to ordinary migraine.

Well it passed & I can type again. When my last girl friend had them I didn't believe her and thought she was nuts until I got one. Now I pay attention more when people talk about weird things happening. This getting old is not for sissies.

I heard somewhere that regular migraines can also affect vision, but the way vision part was described was nothing like the ocular kind. I have never had a migraine headache that I know of.

I was having regular ocular (or visual) migraines, the only way I can describe it is, like when you are going to faint, you cannot focus on anything, just flashing lights, very scary at first I thought it was a stroke

Fortunately I only had one while I was out, in the park, alone and just had to sit with my eyes closed until it eased, no actual headache as with migraine, but they left me feeling absolutely drained

After seeing my optician and having new lens prescribed I’ve not had one for a while now
