Old fashioned toys for grandchildren

When I was a kid, we didn't have all these ready made toys. Instead, my parents made toys for us that were just as beautiful as all that modern stuff.

I can't make a paper airplane. I did get my grandson a very nice brass kaleidoscope for Christmas last year. I try to pick things that will make him realize there are other things out there. Not everything has to be a video game or tech thing. I have also given him a telescope. I think next year I will look at microscopes or musical instruments. He enjoys using the keyboard and trumpet of my son's. Maybe some music lessons of some sort.

I've found a pen and paper works pretty good

Taught 'em how to play a little creative game

Draw a squiggle
Then the other adds to it....making something of it

God, I had 400 sticks (various lengths) and 60 wheels. Little by little thrown away.
