Lovely idea for a thread to keep old songs alive....

This is my very favourite old song... from a 1922 Poem by Joyce Kilmer

Many people over the years have made a recording of it. including Mario Lanza..Paul Robeson, & Pattie Paige... but this one by David Whitfield is my favourite...sooo beautiful

Rudy Vallee...from 1931 As time goes by... became a huge hit for many singers over the decades, including Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong.. and is used in many theme tunes in TV shows...

But so was Les Paul. He was the first music producer to layer sound tracks. Which Pink Floyd did a lot of in post-production.

I love that song. I remember when I was in year 6 our class sang that song at a school concert.
