I usually kill houseplants , now I bought one that could kill me ! LOL I didn't see the little sticker when I bought it . It's a warning label ! It's a Sago Palm . I looked it up and yes - it can kill ! Don't those grow wild in warm places ? Do you have to ingest it to be harmful ? I haven't put it in it's new pot yet - I wanted to ask about it first. ( I keep picturing the plant in the "The Little Shop of Horrors " LOL)

Yep, if your pet or a child ingests it it will make them very sick, even kill. In the south and grown outside they get very large and very beautiful, I gave mine away, even though my dog didn't bother it.

I heard those were poisonous or toxic when ingested by pets, a lot of plants like that around.

Sago Palm Toxicity. Dogs are known to chew on and eat plants, and sometimes they unwittingly eat plants that have toxic properties to them. Sago palms are one of these plants. The leaves from the sago palm can cause severe damage to the liver and potentially death when they are ingested by dogs.

Wow, you are in the "cold country", I would stick with a nice Peace Lily for an inside plant. I think of Sago Palms as outdoor plants for warmer climates. Can you return it and swap it for something else?
