One Year Anniversary

I thought I'd be sad after having lived there 46 years and seeing both parents pass away in it, but I handed over the keys to the buyer's attorney and never looked back, only to go to an open house.

It's had "Sale Pending" on the online listing for weeks.

well yes it wouldn't have been surprising for you to feel a sense of loss with the house.. but I believe it needed so much work doing to it.. that it would have been a huge weight lifted off your shoulders, and I'm pleased you went ahead with it...

I've been 43 years in this house.. 2 husbands.. daughter grown up here.. but I could walk away from it in a Heartbeat.. and mine doesn't even need anything doing to it..

I think I had before and after photos of it somewhere on this site, but can't find them now. They are not lined up exactly, but are the same rooms. After renovation on left and when I was about 70% moved on the right:

Did you not day they hadn't renovated the Basement ?

When I went to the open house, it looked like nothing had been done to the cellar. If the buyers were trying to get a mortgage, you'd think by now they would have withdrawn their offer if they weren't successful and the cellar was the issue.

I see my old house sold for $526,500! 3.6 times what the buyers paid for it.

They probably put 100K to 150K into it and lots of sweat, when it wasn’t selling as fast as they thought. . At least you know it’s in good condition now and better yet, not your problem.

Time goes so fast, it doesn’t seem like a year since you moved.
I’m sure you’ll keep a lot of great memories from your 46 years there.
It is a beautiful Heritage Home.
