Only in Calif, Train robbery 2025 style,

They're getting inside information some where for most of these delivery related robberies.

The thing about a train heist unless near a major intersection or populated area how does one tell the police where the robbery is occuring. I think the thieves realize trains have limited crews and security.

The thieves blew it because they're messing with interstate commerce and now will be part of a federal investigation.

I also thought the collectible sneaker market was more niche so where are they going to sell them-ebay?

Oh dear gawd.........

Yeah, WhatInThe is on to something. These heists are way too coordinated and precise to be pulled off without inside info. And what are you going to do with a trainload of shoes? You can't eat 'em. So, it's just not pulling off the heist that has to be coordinated, but having the connections ready to get the shoes sold to customers.

If we harness the energy and inventiveness of thieves, who come up ingenious, smuggling and stealing ideas, and put them into space research, we'd probably have a colony of Mars 40 years ago.

I've always been a big fan heists and heist movies. Planned one myself once as a kid in school and got trouble when I wrote it as a school project in front of the class after a field to the local bank. Teacher wasn't to happy.

Train looting, in Chicago, got quite a bit of attention last fall.

It sounds like it’s evolving and getting a bit more organized.

I don’t know how smart these crooks are, but Nike does place a serial number on the outside of the box. Each pair that is sold to a department store or anyone can be traced if these guys sell the shoes in the box.

I aided in an investigation of a heist of several pairs of Nikes from a box truck making several deliveries at a mall. A whistleblower or a rat, if you prefer, called the state police and told us he knew a person that was selling Nike shoes that sold for over a hundred bucks in the stores for $50.

We checked out his pair that was sold in a Nike box with the SN and matched them to the invoice sent to the department store. With that evidence, we were able to get an arrest warrant and later a conviction in court. These 3 guys had over 400 pair in the one man’s garage, so the conviction was easy because all the Nikes were in their original boxes and the serial numbers matched that were sold to different stores.

Nike was very cooperative in this investigation. We scanned all the serial numbers, sent them to Nike and they were able to send us a list of who bought which shoes that were meant for which store.

If these are going to collectors and they would want to keep the box perhaps for that sn to help show authenticity. Problem is just like many stolen cars alot of these will probably wind up overseas.
