Oregon. A new law in Oregon makes it easier for ex cons to get a job interview because now a background check cannot be run until an offer of employment is made or after the first interview. As long as they're honest & employers are not required to do things like let child molesters baby sit that seems fair as long as it doesn't turn into a quota system. But just because any applicant was brutally honest doesn't necessarily make them the best fit for the job. And some won't accept that. Equal opportunity is exactly that, opportunity and not a guarantee.

This does give incentive for ex cons to go legit and keeps them off the government dole if employed. Will be interesting to see how it plays out a few years from now.
