Cow Terminology
In English, a cow is technically the term for female adult cattle. The male Cow is called a bull. In Japanese ushi is gender-neutral, and refers to either a Cow or a Bull. The terms meushi 雌牛 ana oushi 牡牛 refer to female and male Cattle specifically.
