Outrageous Miscarriages of Justice -- When you got in trouble and it wasn't your fault.

The earliest memory thread made me notice that although I was in trouble all the time, I only remember the few times I didn't deserve it.

One time my mother went shopping with a friend who left her little girl to play with me while my older brother "babysat."

When the ladies got home, hours later, we had made a big mess all over the living room while pretending to sew doll clothes using my mother's sewing things. After the guests went home, mother noticed her pinking shears were missing. After a search and my useless denials, I got a spanking. Later the other woman called and said she had found the pinking shears in her little girls stuff. Hymph.
Who would even want such things?

Ah yes! I've been waiting over 60 years for this opportunity to tell my story...

So sometime in the early 60s my older brother(by 8 years) and his friend and myself were in the backyard tossing around a navel orange. They started playing keep away with me being the monkey in the middle. One of them tossed the orange high over my head, and it hit a window on the house and broke it. My mother heard the glass break, she hollered out my name and told me to get in the house. As soon as I came in, she beat me with a hair brush, breaking it on my behind. That was it, my brother let me take the blame, mom made no further inquiries about the incident.

Hmmm, sometimes early childhood recollections aren't so wonderful...
