Over 200 Children's Bodies Found At Old Indigenous People's School In Canada

Were the families of these children that 'died' informed in all cases. If so why not. Why weren't they allowed a funeral of the parent's/family's choice?

So many unanswered questions.

I knew deep inside when they found the first grave that there were more, and now with this latest finding, I cringe at the thought of how many more there are.

Sickens and angers me to the nth.

We had the same kind of "Indian" schools in the US. While ostensibly, it was to educate 'savages' to accent the greater white man's culture, the children were hostages to ensure complaint, passive, acceptance of US Army rule, back in the reservations. I think initially most of the school's staff thought they were doing good, and for the benefit of the children. I understand that in US schools, for the kids, it was culture shock. Most had never lived in square wooden buildings. For the boys, they had to have their long hair,. as a sign of their manhood, and honor cut short. The kids were forever coming down with one contagious thing, or another. Deaths were common back then, amongst all children. I don't know about the types of abuse that occurred in Canada. I believe they were religious schools, but here in the US, they were government run.

So much love coming from this person of cloth. Exuding with empathy. NOT!

Victim blaming by the clergy!

“If they wanted extra money, from the money that was given to them, they had to lie sometimes – lie that they were abused sexually and, oop, another $50,000,” Forest said, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corp (CBC).

“It’s kind of hard if you’re poor not to lie,” he reportedly said.

"The statements were made over weeks of services at St. Emile Roman Catholic Church in Winnipeg, and were included in videos on its Facebook page."
