Over 50 Resume w/ Photo. Good or Bad Idea?

Do you or did you have a resume with your photo on it? Good bad idea?

Guess this could work for or against you , but so does listing the years of college & past employment

Functional or Chronological format? I've been reading not to do a Functional Format, where you highlight your skills and expertise, rather than listing your work history in order of date, because it's a red flag for some employers.

Working remotely right now, not quite full time, but always looking, just for the heck of it.

Cindy, generally it's illegal for an employer to ask for a picture on a resume. But if you do include one, it could put an employer on the spot for maybe being accused of discrimination either for or against an applicant. I always used a chronological type resume. People will tell you that you're going to have problems with age. I even had a person at an employment agency tell me this when I was almost 50. The woman was wrong and I never used an employment agency after that. Just believe in yourself, and, of course, interview the interviewer as much as they are interviewing you.

Good advice, Olivia, especially your last sentence. This is how I tend to roll, not really into conventional mumbo, jumbo....if I don't get the job it wasn't a good fit, not meant to be and just stick to my ideals and keep on movin' on.

I was just curious for those that have used their photo on their resume, how that worked out for them...or not?
