Sat on a steep grassy slope waiting for a train to come and be photographed when this little chap spung up and landed on my camera. After a minute or so I adjested my position and he boinged onto the wall I was leaning against. CLICK!

Sharp image. I like the pose you managed. Nice d.o.f. effect. Well done.

Thanks - DOF is at a premium at that range. This was at F/16 :)
D.O.F. at F/16? That's really surprising. I always thought it couldn't be done at anything above F/2.8 back in my film days. But, with digital I guess anything is possible. I really have a hard time figuring out what the camera does vs. what you can do with PS. Digital blurs it all, today. (Pun)

Nothing to do with digital - just magnification. No PS tomfoolery. I was using a 105mm 1:1 Macro lens at about 2in from the subject.

Thanks for the clarification. That 105 must have cost you a bundle. That explains the d.o.f. I must say, I do mostly flower photography and the camera 'adds' the d.o.f. effect since it is a p&s in one of its many auto modes. On my tight budget I could never afford a true macro lens. Enjoy yours.:)
