Pain and Its Reduction

I get lots of pain in my feet and legs due to arthritis of the spine combined with having my feet maimed by 2 doctors over 6 years ago. If I keep occupied on my PC, the pain disappears. Thus, in the night, if I suffer a pain explosion, I MUST come back here and play some computer games to end the pain.

Absolutely, you must deal with the pain in any way you can which will help relieve it or at least take your mind off it a little bit.. I do the same thing. When I'm in Pain you will find me at my computer often .. if I'm in serious pain and I can't concentrate on the computer games I listen to music..

I also listen to a lot of music to relieve my pain. Here is a sample:

I am 86 and will probably die in the near future. I have lots of pain. Thus, my main reason for playing Civilization6 is to alleviate my pain. When I sit at my PC play for 1 to 5 hour sessions, I have no pain at all. I do take 2,600 mg of Tylenol daily plus 60 mg of Codeine. Morphine could be fatal. Thus, playing at level 1 and only domination insures victory and sharp reductions in pain level. Actually while playing Civ6, I have NO pain at all!

Whatever you feel helps is what's best imo

The fact that you're playing CIV VI at your age is mind-blowing! I like the game but I lose patience waiting for turns to end.

I wonder if it's your office chair that's helping. I've discovered that when my leg and foot pain gets horrible (usually at night), if I just walk around for a few minutes and then sit in my office chair, the pain is gone within 5 minutes or so. I think it's probably because my office chair compresses my spine a little bit that takes the pressure off of a nerve.

I listen to music as well. I like to listen to Christian music about Jesus healing us even though I believe Jesus was just a man with great abilities but not a god.

I especially like the Gospel music by Stuart Hamblen. Every time I listen to one of his Gospel songs, my pain disappears. I also go to Civilization VI and playing the computer game totally removes my pain.

I just realized that, when I sit in my office chair in front of my PC, my pain also disappears. Thanks. I never realized that about the chair. If I get pain in the night, I'll head to my computer room and sit in the office chair for 15 minutes.

Continue to do what alleviate your pain. It's amazing what we can do do alleviate our pain instead of reaching for a pain pill. However, when we need a pill, we need it.

As I mentioned in another thread, I've been praying that your pain will ease up. You're doing things on your own which relieve pain which is good. You may have answered this elsewhere but are you seeing a pain management specialist?

Or get a second office chair and put it in your bedroom. Of course, then you'd need a tablet PC (who wants to get bored?) and ...
