My grandpa was a painter and wallpaper hanger. Every year, he'd give us kids his old sample wallpaper books when he got new ones.
We'd find all sorts of use for them, including making "designer" book covers.
When my daughter was young, I'd sew cloth covers for her and her friends' books.
