Parents who refuse to vaccinate their children

We had a lot of parents in Australia who refused to immunise their children so the government had to do something. They introduced a new plan called “No Jab, No Pay” which meant that if your child was not vaccinated, parents would be cut off from their welcome payments. And it worked like a charm - we now have an early childhood vaccination rate of over 90 percent for children aged one to five years of age. Sometimes you have to get tough to get the required result and there was not a whisper of dissent.

Here, children under the age of 12 haven't been approved for vaccination, yet. And, with school starting, the number of these youngsters getting ill is climbing rapidly. We're concerned about our young great grandkids. At least, they are all enrolled in smaller rural school districts where the teachers have been vaccinated, and masks required, but that will only go so far. The larger cities are seeing more young kids getting ill, every day.

Sorry to mislead you Don, nothing to do with Covid vaccine, just pre-school age children in general. There was a growing number of anti-vax parents with unvaccinated kids in pre-schools and something needed to be done. It fixed the problem pretty quickly, 90 percent vaccinated children aged one to five years of age is a great result.

We haven't vaccinated children yet for Covid but will be in the near future.

Your post was misleading. I'm sure you know that the first thing people think of now when a vaccine is mentioned is the Covid vaccine.
