Past their Used By Date

I used to clean houses for the aged. Occasionally all cleaners would have a meeting and sometimes a special speaker would give advice. One guy gave us a Health and Safety Talk. I remember him saying something like :
"Well I guess many of your clients are past their used by dates, but I wonder if you could get them to assist you in the cleaning process." Something to that effect. And no one stopped him or chatted him about his inappropriate comment, including me. What a shocking comment though.

Obviously he is a loser in life. I could say more, but, I'm afraid the words would make a sailor blush.

He probably meant to be facetious, but his comment was still ageist and in my opinion inappropriate.

We have a friend who goes to as many food drops as she can find. She’s always giving us a ton of food which we really appreciate but, a lot of it is outdated which we cannot use. Like bread, 7 days over code, yogurt, way over code, etc.Having worked in the grocery business a number of years, has made me weary of using codes. They are there for a reason. We don’t dare pass them on, so much ends up in the garbage.
