People Do Misjudge Others

It's not a case of judging people, it's just an observation.

When I was younger and single, I sometimes flirted around in the hopes of finding a good soul in order to spend a wonderful life together. Which I did for 36 wonderful years, he was the love of my life but I didn't flirted, neither did he, we just found each other. You might say, we were where we were supposed to be at the right place at the right time.

Prior to that magical time, finding guys that weren't gay was a task and a half. Nowadays, daughter is facing the same process and so many she gets a crush on turn out to be gay...

There was a time where I wondered if that was just an excuse from the 70s and 80s guys. Simply saying: "Sorry, I'm gay..." Instead of saying: "Sorry, but you're just not my type..." Whatever that meant lol!

Nevertheless, daughter was on IMDb database this morning, checking out an actor, which turned out to be gay and married to another bloke. It lead her to a list of celebrities which are all males and married to each other. She was in tears...

One question on my mind... Is there an environmental factor or more which have turned so many boys into gay men, or is it just the fact that we speak more openly and are more accepting these days?

Regardless, we're both looking and no longer wondering if we will love again!

I am getting quite a few chuckles out of this thread.
I am long past the dating game but memories linger and all I can say is for heaven's sake, date the woman , be yourself and let nature and your own common sense take its course. It is your choice.
Good luck(y)

Very strange way to end what was otherwise a lovely evening. I cannot imagine my inviting my date in and saying just what she said to you. It could have been said at the door, instead of having you in for a chat.
