People that are always "on"

How much does it bother you to have people around that act like they are always doing stand-up comedy on steroids? I don't mind a joke or two and a titter afterwards, but find it tiresome when you can't say anything that they don't make a joke about. Arm punchers and loud guffawers I find very offensive (e.g. "Hi there! Working hard or hardly working? HAR! HAR! HAR!" punch, punch, punch).

People like that get on my nerves and I tend to avoid them. I know a few. Jokes are fine but a person that is always "ON", no thank you. They are usually very insecure people and need attention and don't know how to get it. I feel sorry for them but I don't want them around me.

I tend to agree with the insecure bit.They are begging for attention. But as long as they stay away from me, I really "couldn't care less".

I had an ex like that. The jokes never stopped, even in the bedroom. Needless to say the relationship didn't last long. I think people like that must be covering up some kind of insecurity so I don't hate them for it, just wish they'd redirect their energy.

I avoid people like that. I feel like they are superficial and insincere.

At my last job I had to be "on" all the time .It just drained me by the end of the day.
