Perhaps they have 2 homes..and spend more time in one than the other..or perhaps they work long hours..or perhaps they have a big social life...or perhaps they prefer the great outdoors with somewhere to rest their weary head..or perhaps they hate the neighbourhood they're in and spend as much time out of it as possible...loads of reasons why someone might not be at home much!!
Are you sure they’re never home, or could they be just saying that because they don’t want to be interrupted/bothered? Are there indications that there are other problems with the relationship?
I rarely notice whether my neighbors are home or not. I have better things to do with my time.
My closest ones always notify me if they're going to be away for any length of time.
Someone I know is very rarely at home, her place is a mess and she uses it as a kind of pit stop and spends most of her time visiting friends in their homey homes where she gets fed and has company. I think she is a bit afraid to be alone, as often happens with people living on their own.
Debodun, that's the same inquiry as made by Mr Pooter in the book Diary Of A Nobody (written in Victorian times by George and Weedon Grossmith, still in print today and a must-read.)
