Pharmacy Deliveries?

Got a text today my prescriptions were ready for pickup but I was hesitant to pick them up and can wait awhile longer for them. The CVS real near me had a positive case a few weeks ago. So I looked at the text I got to pick up the prescriptions and it said to click on a link for delivery. I had done that once before and it said my insurance did not cover it.

This time, however, I clicked on it and it said free deliveries. So I filled out the information it asked of me and it said I will get the prescriptions delivered this Thursday. It did not give me a time of day option, though, so I wonder when it will be delivered. I have to sleep, too, so I want it at a time I'm awake.

This seems like a good option, though, to get my prescriptions delivered in these times. Has anyone else gotten pharmacy deliveries? How did it go? What time did they show up?

CVS has been doing this for a long time Ruth.....I used it only once since this pandemic and usually takes two to three days to receive.....
one of my meds has to be picked up in person cuz its considered a street drug....in the wrong hands it could be sold illegally.....
its my sleep med.....I think you'll find this is a great service to use now or forever....
(Luv your new sparkly signature!)

Thank you. I have been aware they've been doing it for a long time as I had tried to get it delivered before and it was not free then. That's why it told me before my insurance did not cover it. Now, however, it is free apparently for those who normally wouldn't have been able to get it for free. :giggle: :giggle:✨

Right its $10 normally, reason why I've only used it one time.

I would have gladly paid the $10.00 before had I known how much it was but they never told me how much it was...I guess I could have called and asked but didn't think of it at the time. ;)

In this area, they will also deliver other products along with the prescriptions.

The prices are a little bit high for groceries and snacks but it might be worth it instead of putting together a separate grocery order.
I wish I could order other stuff, too, and not sure if I can do that, too, with prescription delivery.

I tried a few mos. ago to get a delivery of store items and could not get a time frame so eventually I gave up.

That’s a great service and I’m glad you ladies all got your prescriptions delivered FREE. I like the kind incentives businesses are offering to help out in this stressful situation.
I'm waiting to get my first pharmacy delivery on Thurs. Have never gotten one before. I do hope it works out well. Thank you.

I live in a 55+ apartment building which has several convenient amenities. A local pharmacy delivers prescriptions every Friday free of charge. They have been doing this for several years and are still going strong during the pandemic, now wearing gloves and masks.

Good luck Ruth, hope things go smooth! My husband recently had to visit the dentist due to pain, he had a back tooth pulled, first tooth he ever had pulled in his life (still has his wisdom teeth), his teeth and gums are much healthier than mine ever were. Anyhoo, they gave him a script for 8 pain pills, oxycodone mixed with acetaminophen. I offered to mask up and go to Walgreens to fill it for him, or research how much it would cost to have it delivered. He didn't want to bother for such a small amount of pills, he didn't have much pain and just used Aleve.

That is a really strong painkiller that was prescribed....Glad the Aleve helped him out.

BTW, my gums are not in the best shape either--they bleed.

Slight change of topic here but was able to order and pick up groceries from Walmart today. The virus made it impossible to do for a few weeks because they had employees sanitizing and re-stocking inside like crazy. It takes a couple of days between ordering and pick up but it keeps me out of the store and I can take daddy with me. Can't leave him home alone because of his alzheimer's.
